It is essential to arrange a boiler service every year with a verified, Gas Safe registered engineer. We encourage customers to check an engineer’s gas safe ID (see our GAS SAFETY MATTERS tips to keep you safe). Regular servicing ensures your boiler is maintained to the highest standard, operating at peak efficiency and prolonging its lifespan. Just as you would not skip servicing a brand new car to achieve optimum performance, you should not neglect your boiler. Annual servicing helps spot potential issues before they become major, inconvenient, more expensive problems and ensures that your boiler warranty remains valid! Unsafe gas works can have serious, potentially fatal consequences.
Depending on your needs we offer two levels of boiler servicing: a comprehensive strip and clean service, or a basic entry-level service.
BASIC SERVICE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWIN
- Check and adjust gas pressure and flow.
- Inspection of flue and combustion: a flue gas analyser (where appropriate) will be used to ensure the boiler is burning the correct gas to air ratio).
- Inspection of electrical connections, ensuring they are clean and secure.
- Check fans and other key components are operating efficiently.
- Inspecting seals for integrity.
- Check electrodes are in good condition.
- Testing all safety devices are checked.
- Ensure condensate trap and pipe are free from blockages.
Assess the overall internal condition of the boiler:
Where necessary, we will also clean the inside of the boiler and inspect the water and gas pipework to ensure there are no leaks and everything is functioning correctly.
COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE INCLUDES:
Everything covered in the basic service plus:
- Replacement of ignition and electrodes.
- Replacement of electrode lead.
- Replacement of burner seals.
- Replacement of burner pads (dependant on model of boiler)
- Replacement of main wiring harness.
- Deep clean inside the main heat exchanger.
- Clean inside the boiler if necessary.
- Inspect water and gas pipework to ensure everything is working efficiently and safely.

Gas Safety Matters
For peace of mind, follow our engineer check tips, gas safety is not optional, it saves lives !!A competent Gas Safe engineer will keep up to date with their registration, industry standards, safety regulations and training. Gas Safe registration is renewed annually, alongside a statement to declare continued competence and the ability to legally carry out gas work. Having a Gas Safe logo or sticker on the company van is not proof of qualification.
The Gas Safe Register is the legal gas registration body for the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey. Ask to see your engineer’s Gas Safe ID card.
The card shows the engineer’s photo, their licence number, the expiry date and the type of gas works they are qualified to carry out (e.g. boilers, cookers, fires). Check their card is in date and they are qualified for the works you need.
The public can verify a registration is active and valid on the official Gas Safe Register website (www.gassaferegister.co.uk) by entering the engineer’s licence number or the business name and postcode. Always ensure the individual carrying out the work is registered, not just the company.
